Complete Eye Examination
A full clinical examination that goes well beyond reading a chart. We assess your visual acuity, focusing and eye-muscle coordination, and we screen for early signs of eye disease that often have no symptoms — glaucoma, diabetic changes, hypertension and age-related macular changes.
What to expect
- Personal and family eye-health history
- Visual acuity and refraction (your prescription)
- Eye-pressure check and front-of-eye examination
- Retinal examination and, where indicated, retinal imaging
- Written summary with recommendations or onward referral

- Adults due for their 2-yearly check-up
- First-time spectacle or contact-lens wearers

Bring your current spectacles, contact lenses and medical-aid card. Allow about 30 minutes.
